July Birthday's & Garden

So how is a person to catch up on nearly a month and a half worth of a very busy season? With mass postings...and of course back dating for journaling purposes
July is Birthday time. Here it's just Brian and Lucas who have birthdays but in our family within two weeks of each other there is also Ryan, Amber, and Daniela.  So needless to say, we a LOT of a cake.  Especially now that I have found a to die for recipe.

Both boys love homemade buttercream frosting!
Happy 29th to my wonderful husband!  I am so grateful that I married this man :)
..and had these very messy children of course...
For the boys Thomas the Train themed party I wanted a Thomas pinata.  The stores here only had one, that was lame and $20...so I made my own!  It was way more work than I wanted, but considering how fabulous I think it turned out, I would consider doing it again in the future.

If you missed older posts, we did a square foot garden this year, and I have to say I LOVED it.  Here is our potato plant that Brian pulled before it was probably ready to be pulled.  In the spring Brian buried a potato that we had purchased at the grocery store and had started to sprout.  It was a normal looking white potato, but it produced these delicious puple/red potatoes

A baby carrot from our garden.  We planted mixed colored carrots and got them in white, yellow, orange, and purple.
Levi loves to stick his foot up while eating
Lucas has been LOVING his birthday present.  Don't worry he doesn't ride in sleevless shirts all the time, this was a super hot day (100+) and his riding gear hadn't arrived yet.
