Thanksgiving

Well this years Thanksgiving although small was still very much worthy of being thankful for. This year has really shown us all of the things that we took for granted. We are so thankful that even though money is much tighter than it used to be we are still filled with family, friendships, and our health.

* I am so grateful for having such a supportive family who has really helped us out during the past year to help us get where we are.
* I am so grateful for having the cutest little boy in the world who makes me smile everyday.
* I am grateful for friendships that have lasted so long and new ones that we get to start.
* I have a new found appreciation for all of our military service members (present and past) who sacrifice so much. Not only for our freedoms, but so that we don't have to have a draft. Some of the jobs are no joke!
* I am so thankful that my family is really so healthy! We hardly ever get sick, and when we do it seems to pass quickly

Those are just a few things that I thought that I should share.

So on to Thankgiving...On Wednesday I decided to get a head start and make my pumpkin pie. I was so proud of how beautiful they look and how wonderful they smelled. Lucas and I both tried a little sliver so that we could see how yummy it was. Afterwards I started cleaning everything up and I had put two of the pies away when suddenly I saw Lucas doing the unimaginable...he pulled on my cooling rack and caused my beautiful pie to come flying off the counter and on to the floor, face first. Those of you who have watched Friends and remember the cheesecake episode can somewhat feel the loss that I felt at that moment. For those of you who haven't go to YouTube and see the clip. I did scrape it up off the floor using my crust rolling out plastic sheet, and you can see the results..

Our thanksgiving dinner was fantastic. I made delicious rolls for the first time! It was exciting to see that I could really make bread. I have a breadmaker back home so I never had to make real bread from scratch and it was a little intimidating but it paid off! Brian made his small turkey and of course we had to have 2 styles of potatoes - mashed for me and baked for Brian. After we ate Brian's mom called and Lucas had a lot of fun talking her ear off. He loves to talk on the phone now (and now he actually talks instead of just listening)!

Big Boy

Well Lucas is such a big boy now! In the past month that we have been here he has become so independent and gotten so much more personality. He loves to help me out around the house. As soon as the dishwasher is opened he wants to help empty it, reguardless of whether the dishes are clean or dirty. He also loves to help sweep. I have the big broom and then a small hand one. When I use the hand one he holds the dust pan and I sweep into it. I have talked about the little boy upstairs before I think but he has a little car that he keeps in the breezeway of our building so Lucas likes to play, or "drive" I should say, it all the time. These pics are actually from a very cold windy day that we had a while ago. That's the thing with the weather here, the sun shines most of the time so you think it should be warm, but the wind blows a lot and it's always a COLD wind.

Lucas 1st Santa Visit

On Saturday we went to Hangar Holiday here at Sheppard AFB and Lucas had his first opportunity to sit on Santa's lap. He was very unsure but he didn't cry or whine or anything like that. I plan on taking him to see Santa a few more times here on base so hopefully we can eventually get a cute pic :)

Our new little apartment

So this is our cute little apartment. It is about 1/2 a mile from the main entrance to Sheppard, and about 1.5 miles from my door to Brian's squadron. That actually makes it pretty nice since we are sharing the truck. If I ever need the truck I just walk there and get it. I really like our area because it is filled with Air Force (and a few army) wives and/or families. The people are really nice and Lucas has fun because there is a little boy (Caleb) his age that lives upstairs from us. Overall we really like it here, the one problem is that our apartment had fleas when we moved in!!! As you can see from the picture, they are eating me alive. Luckily both Brian and Lucas have emerged without hardly a bite (maybe 3 total). I think that after bombing twice we are finally getting rid of them. It just makes us glad that we didn't bring Gus, the poor guy would have a tough time with them.

Crazy Birds!

I thought that this really deserved it's own post. Near Brian's dorm there is a crazy phenomenon that happens every night at dusk. For no apparent reason, as soon as the sun starts to go down I think every bird in the region flocks to the same spot. It is dangerous to walk in this area!! There are power lines and quite a few trees and the floor is LITERALLY COVERED in bird "doo doo". It is really nasty. Brian said that when they march back from school or whatever they were out doing that usually at least one person gets pegged by flying poop.

Since this post I have seen at least one other location on base that has a similar phenomenon. I am not sure what is up with this place! Oh and there are lots of squirrels everywhere on base too...

Veterans Day Parade

Veterans Day Parade

Well I went to my first Veterans Day Parade, and what a good first one. Since Brian was marching in this parade I opted for the parade on base instead of going to the one in town. I was worried that it would be packed with people so we got there really early and Lucas had fun wandering around and of course following everyone in ABU's (camos) saying "Dad... Dada". We were 2 of the probably 10 civilians that ended up coming to watch the parade, the rest of the stands were completely filled with all of the troops that are assigned to Sheppard for school. It was neat because they had 2 other services marching there too, although I didn't catch which branches (thus the Army? and Marines? comments). At the beginning the marching band played the songs of all of the Military branches and then the National Anthem. It was weird because some of the branches songs were actually familiar patriotic songs that I remembered singing as a kid in school. Anyway it was very neat and I am glad that I went.

Brian's graduation Part 1

Well time to catch up on posts I guess! These are all pictures from Brian's graduation, I will probably add more pictures when I get the pictures from my Dad's camera as well.

On Thursday morning (10/22) all of the graduating airmen do their last run while their families stand on the sidewalk and try to get a glimpse of them. Later that afternoon is the coin ceremony where they officially go from Trainee's to Airmen. After that ceremony was the first time that we were able to see Brian. It was super exciting! They have to stand in formation until you go and touch them and then they can leave and walk around with you. I walked past Brian a million times and I couldn't see him, he finally gave up on my ability to find him and he cracked a tiny smile (which they really aren't supposed to do) so that I could find him. It was amazing!

The other pictures of the graduation parade are from Friday morning (10/23). I rode the shuttle there from my hotel and then my dad, Julie, my aunt Neli, and Uncle Dwayne drove over and met me there. Everyone had told us how hot San Antonio was but when we were there, it was sooo cold in the mornings! At the parade all of the airmen march past the bleachers and then there are speakers and songs, and then we all rush out on to the field to find our Airmen once again.

Right after the ceremony we were able to walk over and see Brian's dorm. It was crazy to see how he had lived for the past 2 months. You virtually have no privacy in there and I could see how difficult it must have been for all of the guys there. We met Brian's TI's and it was weird because the smaller guy looked so mean and tough and he was actually the nicer guy that let Brian call home on the weekends, and the TI that seemed nicer when we met him was actually the tough super strict one. I guess he is the toughest TI there at Lackland and he does things a lot differently than the other TI's but he is so good at what he does that they let him basically run his own show.

More pictures to come! After our visit to his dorm we were free to go around the town and then he had a town pass for Saturday as well.

Graduation weekend to commense!

I know I have completely been ignoring this while Brian has been gone. I have been writing him EVERY single night so after I write all of that stuff I am pretty burnt out on the writing. This is just a quick update to say that tomorrow I am flying to San Antonio to see Brian!!! It's graduation weekend already. I will try and post soon after arriving home, but I can make no promises! We will see him a little on Thursday and then all the way through Sunday. Who knows what life will have in store for us after that...

Phone Died.. :(

Well my phone has sippy cup damage! Apparently Lucas's cup leaked on to my phone and it won't turn on. So, I have NO phone numbers!! For now I have my cell forwarded to my home phone so you can call my number or call 435-705-5642. Please call or email me so I have your numbers again.

Thanks!

Phone Call #2!

Well Sunday I got another call from Brian! It was supposed to just be a business call to just get the drivers license numbers and dates of birth for everyone going to basic training, but we managed to get in a little bit of a conversation in the midst.

He is sounded like he was doing better, and since I was somewhat expecting (well really just hoping) for a call again I took it much better and didn't cry! Thank you to those of you who have written him. He did say that the letters from home have made things better. He reads the letters before he goes to bed at night, and he said that if "lights out" comes before he's done reading that he takes the letters into the bathroom to finish reading them there! So funny that he has to read the letters in the bathroom. I hope he is just "reading" them there instead of them being "reading material" if you know what I mean. haha

For those of you who know our eating habits you know that well, we aren't the easiest eaters to please. In spite of everything he said that he is eating well there. He eats a salad, main course, and a fruit for dessert at his meals. He also got the most perfect job for him there! He was assigned to the kitchen, which means that twice a week when he works there, he gets to have ice cream and sugary things. They are really meant for the TI's, but the kitchen workers get to eat from the forbidden luxuries.

He said that even though his flight is filled with guys right out of high school he is managing to make some friends there. There are a lot of country boys there that he gets along well with. He said that the evenings are his favorite parts of the night because everyone in his flight gathers in a group (even the TI's) and they just sit around talking and relaxing. That is something that they have earned recently and the guys all enjoy actually being able to relax instead of being on their toes.

I asked how his performance was going and he said that he is doing well. Most of the guys have around 20 marks against them (he used a specific name for it, but I can't remember it) and he only has 1 (that he got blamed for something that someone else did). He actually is learning to "cheat" the system. Apparently you only have so long, after the get out of bed trumpet sounds, to get dressed. So, he started hiding his socks under his bed so that before the trumpet sounds he can get out his socks and put them on while still in bed to buy him a few more seconds!

Well this is the start of his Week 4 of basic. Which means, Friday is his official half way through mark. I must say it is quite a relief to see that day come. He also said that this week they earn their name tag on their uniform. Which means that the TI's can visually see how long they have been there and don't give them such a hard time anymore.

Oh - and he did say that they started something new with his group. Now they do "night raids" (where people raid their dorm at night going through all of their things to make sure that everything is folded nicely and everything is spotless) every night. They used to only do this ridiculous thing like once or twice a week, but now it's every night. I don't think I would be able to go back to sleep after something like that.

At the end of our conversation we decided that I will be joining Brian at Tech School reguardless of duration or location. So, I will either be moving the last weekend in October or the first weekend of November. It is exciting, but a little crazy since I won't know where I am going for at least another 2-3 weeks. It is nice though, to see the light at the end of the tunnel. So, if anyone is wants to head on a road trip, (probably to Wichita Falls Texas) let me know and come with me!!

Lucas and I are doing well, I just haven't written on here much because I write Brian about it every day and it just feels so redundant.

Please keep all of us in your prayers, especially Brian. He could use any extra pull we have! :)

Brian called home!!

Well that super long awaited call finally came! When I heard my phone saying that a 210 (texas area code) phone number was calling my heart nearly leaped out of my chest as I darted for the phone leaving Lucas eating raisins in his high chair. I tried to hold it together but just hearing him say "hey" got the water works flowing.

He is missing home naturally, and says that it is REALLY hard, but he is doing ok. His TI's (insturctors) are really tough and they get in trouble a lot because there are some guys in his flight that really don't care to be there. They are so strict that he they haven't let them mail any letters home. If they are caught sending a letter home without permission they can get recycled (held back) a week.

He said that they have to run for 30 minutes straight and then they get a little break and then they have to do sprints. He is doing ok with the running but he said that on his physical test thing they do that he needs to improve his time on the mile and a half. Apparently he has to run it in 11 minutes or less and he is at 12, but his chins and calves are killing him so he is praying for rain! (when it rains they don't have to run - thus giving his calves time to heal) He says that he has lost some weight, but that he is getting a six pack with all the sit ups so it's ok.

He did say that he is only allowed letters and NO packages of any kind. So, feel free to write him even though he won't be able to respond.

Finally a picture

Well today I got an email from the service missionaries at Lackland and there was a picture of Brian!! It made me feel so good to see him, but yet so sad that we aren't there together. Although I really am doing alright. I get sad at night, but during the day I am really so busy with everything going on just don't have time to think about it.

I have written him a few letters but still no word from him yet. The missionaries said that writing home and calling is a "priveledge" that has to earned.

Update on Lucas and Going Away Party.

Ok quick little update on Lucas :)

He is now RUNNING everywhere! My mom and I were just laughing about how silly it is that when kids learn to run, they want to run everywhere they go. He loves to play in the dirt and go swimming too. Brian said that I am supposed to do Mommy and Me swim classes with him, and he is supposed to be swimming by the time he gets back!

Lucas is also starting to talk quite a bit! He says Mama, Dada, Vovo (I can't do the accents so that is both grandma and grandpa in portuguese depending on how you say it), Gu (Gus), Ba (ball), Wa (water), Cheeeeesss (cheese), Du (duck), he has also said kee (keys) and caa (cat) once before but it hasn't stuck yet!

I am sad and lonely for Brian when I think about, so most of the day I try to just think of it as him working so I don't cry or get sad in front of Lucas. He can sense when I am in a bad mood and it tends to make him whiney.

Thanks to those of you who came to Brian's party and supported him. We didn't invite many people because Brian wanted it to be mainly family. Here are some pictures of the party. I swear Lucas was clean when I got to Pine Valley, but by the time we left he was FILTHY!

Brian update

Ok I know that I have been a major slacker when it comes to updating our blog. Things have been sooo crazy here with getting Brian ready to leave and now I have family coming from Brazil and we have been going crazy trying to make room in the house to house them. Anyway, I haven't heard from Brian yet sadly...but I do have his mailing address. He can only get letters and before he left he said that he probably won't have much time to write so he will probably only respond to me.

Basic Military Training

Well yesterday morning Brian left for Basic! 55 days and counting...

I was able to text him while he was in the airport and doing some paperwork in Las Vegas but no other news than that. I just wanted to make sure that I stay up to date on posting every time I hear any news.

Thanks for all your support!

My cute little baby and my scary day

Time has seriously been flying lately! I don't know what has been going on though. Since this is really the only "journal" that I am keeping I thought I should post what my cute little man has been up to these past few days/weeks.

On the 1st of June Lucas started taking his first solo steps! It was so exciting!!! Since then it didn't really progress much until about a week ago. I believe it was last sunday that he dared to start crossing the room by himself. So that is where we are still at, he will cross the room back and forth between people or toys but he still doesn't have enough confidence in himself to walk full time.

His noises and mumblings have also progressed in the past week or so too :) He now says: Mama, Dada (daddy and dad), Gu (or Gu Gu for Gus), Vovo (same for my mom and dad), Co co (which means poo in Portuguese, but I think he just likes the sound), and his newest is Bah Bah (bye-bye) which he does when he waves Bye bye (only after the person leaving has actually left - apparently he doesn't like to let them know he says good bye).

Lucas has several books with animals in them so when we read them I point at all of the animals and make their noises as best that I can for him to know them. For those of you who REALLY know me, know that both my sister and I have really perfected our monkey noises (although she does it much better than I do). So, it may come to little suprise that the next generation is working on perfecting their imitation as well. Now every time I make a monkey noise Lucas tries to make them as well with his cute little oo, oo, oo, ee, ee, ee, ee.

Now on a serious note, yesterday was possibly the most scared I have ever been. I think I will have quite a few more gray hairs next time I look. My dad has been sick with some type of cold/flu for a few days now but yesterday he didn't want to eat anything all day after he had a shake for breakfast and he slept nearly the entire day. I had talked to my mom (who was in Pine Valley) in the mid afternoon and she had told me to check on Dad every once in a while because there was one time when we were in Brazil that he didn't eat when he was sick and he ended up passing out in the middle of the night. So I didn't reguard this completely seriously but I checked on him later in the afternoon and he was fine.

After I put Lucas to bed at 7:30 I went to the kitchen for a few minutes and then came to hop on the computer. I wasn't on the computer for more than 5 minutes before I heard a HUGE noise come from my parents bathroom. In absolute panic I ran to their bathroom knowing what had happened. My dad had passed out,...against the door. I started screaming "Dad Dad Dad are you ok?" with no response in return.

With my Hee-Woman strength I pushed the door open and narrowly made my way inside (little did I know that my Hee-Woman strength was actually Brian pushing on the door as well behind me). My dad looked horrible! Eyes extremely wide looking no where as if possessed and gasping for air. I told Brian to call 911 and I sat there holding my dad trying to get him to answer questions and get him to come to. Soon paramedics began to arrive and my dad started getting his color back and they took him to the hospital. When I went outside to get in the truck and drive there, I saw there was a Fire Engine (1st on the scene), Ambulance, Paramedic SUV, and Brian also said he saw a blue Chevy paramedic truck that parked across the street.

I arrived at the hospital just as the ambulance was arriving as well (later Dad told me he thought they were taking him to Vegas because it took them so long to get the hospital). Once they took me back to the room he was in he had started to look much better. He still was a little foggy but he was returning as they pumped a bag of fluids into him.

It was extremely scary but after Chest X-Rays, a CT of his head and neck, blood tests, and urine tests he was told that he has the flu and is about half way through it and may have a touch of pnemonia but otherwise was just fine. He is on some antibiotics and was told he shouldn't go out in public for 5-7 days because he is contagious but that he is ok. (Wow I thought I told the short version)

Anyway after all was said and done I was so happy that we live here and that I was able to be here for him, because I don't know if my mom could have handled finding him that way and staying calm, especially in front of the grandkids that she had with her in Pine Valley. I am so grateful that I have my parents with me and I hope that I don't have to lose either one of them in a very very long time.

Red Cliffs

Today we woke up and decided to test out our Backpack Carrier.  We went on a two nice little hikes at Red Cliffs and met some nice people that took our picture.  Lucas really seemed to enjoy being up above seeing what was going on, and having the perfect positioning to hit Brian on the head.  As you can see from the picture, Lucas really just wanted the opportunity to hit anyone on the head!  I guess we better soak up the red sand while we can, who knows where we will end up . . .

It's been too long ...

I feel like I have been rushed for time lately, and really I don't know what I have been doing.  Life is so different now that I have a hard time getting used to it.

As you probably saw from my last post we finally have news on the Air Force!  Brian leaves on August 25th for boot camp and I believe that he will graduate on October 24th.  He doesn't have a specific job yet other than knowing it will be in a mechanical career, so we won't know anything about his training until he has a job.  We are really excited to know that we will be together for the holidays though, and Brian is pretty excited that he will be in San Antonio for Fall instead of Summer.

Lucas is HUGE now!  At his 10 month doctors appointment he was in the 97th percentile for height and 70th for weight, and I am pretty sure that he has surpassed those by now.  I was at Shannon's house the other night and Lucas was the same size as her 19 month old nephew!  I am pretty sure that people wonder why a boy of his size isn't walking.

I have just been busy taking care of Lucas, Gus, and our fabulous garden!  It has grown so fast.  We have all sorts of plants and it is great knowing that in a little while we will be able to spend a lot less on groceries!

Finally Air Force news

Well I know I am in desperate need up an all around update but things have been crazy so I just haven't had time.  This is just a short little post to let you all know that we finally got a "ship" date for Brian!  He will head to boot camp on August 25th.  Meaning his graduation will probably be the 24th of October.  For now this is all we know, he doesn't have a job assignment yet so we don't know how long his training will be or where, or where we will be stationed after boot camp.  Anyway I have to run but I will try to update the past month in the next few days.

Easter is coming

So I had big plans for today, and it started out great.  This morning we awoke to see that Lucas has officially become a Vampire!  His right side canine tooth has come in making a total of 5 little teeth (which does not feel good when he bites you).  Later we gave Lucas a little hair cut so that he won't look so shaggy in his easter pictures.  I even went outside and did yard work for 30 minutes or so!  All of these things were leading to the event that we had centered today around, going to an Easter egg hunt and getting a picture with good ol' Peter Cottontail :)

So we got to the Tonaquint Nature Center about 10-15 minutes late.  We had to park so far away that it took us about 10 minutes just to walk where we needed to be.  Then we went to look for eggs and all of the ones for his age group were gone!  At this point we should have just called it quits, but I wanted to get a picture for the scrapbook... they wouldn't let outside cameras in the place, so we decided to splurge and pay $3 for a picture.  As we were waiting in line I decided I should go and change Lucas's diaper, but lo and behold there were no changing tables or any safe surfaces in which to change him.  I then went and stood with Brian in line again.  Not more than 2 minutes later, I suddenly see Brian moving Lucas away from his body and see a little dripping fountain of water coming out from Lucas's cute little Easter overalls!  Anyway, long story long, no picture, out $3 and an hour, a few pairs of wet clothes, and Brian now has one more "fun" activity to hold over my head!

Air Force update: Nothing (although the recruiter hopes to hear something by the 15th of this month)

4th tooth already and all out of order

My crazy little tooth man.  So for the past little while Lucas has been biting like CRAZY!!!  Seriously, my arms have bruises all up and down them from him biting me all the time.  It has become quite the problem on how to teach him no.  We have tried the put him down and temporarily ignore him trick (which he just thinks its time to go and play by himself), we have tried looking stern and giving a firm "No biting Lucas", and we have tried pulling him away, all to no avail.  But now I finally understand why!  Today while Lucas was eating his afternoon snack I noticed a little bit another tooth coming in :)  His mouth is totally lop sided now with this tooth coming in on his left bottom side.

Anyway, this is what my life now consists of, counting teeth.  I miss parts of my old life, but this one is so fulfilling.  Who would have known it would be so exciting to see a tooth coming in, or watching a little person pull up on everything that his little hand can fit around.  Like I told my cute little niece (Mya), "it makes mommies feel good".  That was actually in reference to seeing little fat rolls, but I think it applies to all aspects of motherhood.

3rd Tooth!

Lucas got his 3rd tooth yesterday!  So the normal order for teeth is 1st the 2 bottom, then the 2 top, then the ones next to that, and so on working out alternating top and bottom.  The next teeth that Lucas should have gotten would be the top 2 front teeth.  Instead...he got his top left CANINE tooth (with the right one not far behind)!!!  Crazy I know.  He is going to look so silly with his front teeth missing, he skipped the toddler and is going straight to a six year old who has already lost his front teeth.

Oh and update for Brian, nothing.  Meaning we still no nothing else about when he is going to boot camp or what his job will be.  The recruiter is hoping to know next week, but no promises.

8 Month Birthday!

Okay I don't know how well this video will upload but it was just too cute!! Today is Lucas's 8 month Birthday and he has been so cute lately. This afternoon he started making a "Fish Face" and then finishing it like a kiss. I know that I am just gaga over him, but really it is so cute! Oh, and yesterday he learned how to click his tongue (I think he might do it once in the movie).

Well to wrap up the last month...Lucas now weighs about 22 lbs, pulls himself up on EVERYTHING, loves to make noises (with his mouth or hands against surfaces), and is just full of personality. I have just been keeping busy with my 3 boys, achievement day girls, the occasional scrapbooking, and visits from friends and family. Brian is very excited to have all the testing done for the Air Force and is eagurly awaiting the news of when he goes to boot camp. We did find out today that he will find out his job assignment here before he goes to boot camp and that after boot camp he won't even come back here, he will go straight on to his training that could last anywhere from 4 weeks to 1 year. During the training time he won't be allowed to live with me, although if we are living in the same town he can come home and visit.

March 2009

March is here already! So as I posted last night, we are officially in the Air Force. The local recruiter says that he won't know when Brian leaves for boot camp for possibly a few weeks. Although he says there is a small chance that he could leave as soon as March 24, or as late as 4 months from now.

I know that for some of you this came as a complete shock, but it has actually been in the works for a while. Brian had thought about joining the Air Force when he had just graduated high school and he had also thought about becoming an aircraft mechanic. Now, due to the slumming economy it seemed like the right time to try and pursue those dreams again. We have been talking to the recruiter since some time around November, and it has finally actually happened.

When he leaves for boot camp he will be gone for 8.5 weeks. During that time the only thing that he can do is write letters. No email, no phone calls, nothing. So, I am sad that he will miss out on so much with Lucas, but in the long run we feel that it is the best decision for him and for our family.

As for the rest of us, Lucas is growing so much!! He is now constantly pulling up on all of the furniture and trying to "cruise" from place to place. Naturally he is still quite wobbly, but he is doing pretty good. He also LOVES baths. If I set him on the floor while I go to the bathroom he immediately crawls to the tub, pulls himself up, and tries to pull himself into the tub.

I am doing well, just being a "mama" and trying to preserve a little bit of the old me :) it's hard to do being a mom, but the trade off is well worth it.

AIRFORCE HERE WE COME!

Hey everyone,

I don't have a lot of information yet, but just to keep you up to date, we are in the Air Force!  Brian went up to SLC and did all of the physical stuff, said the Oath, and signed the papers.  We don't know when he leaves for Basic yet, but it could be as early as the end of this month and as late as June.  I will post again when I know more :)

Love you all!

Finishing up February

I just realized that I never finished up February!  Okay so not much happened in the last few days.  After having the trampoline here for probably 6 months or so, my Mom finally got on it!  This was her first time up there ever, so she took a little coaxing.  I had to get on with her and hold her hands, but I think she had fun.  Lucas also got on with Brian (the pic doesn't show the tramp at all) and I hung up his new (at least to us) swing.

The last couple pics show how silly Lucas gets at night.  He has his silly times during the day too.  But from 7 to the time he goes to bed (usually 7:45) he is just a goof ball!

February 2009

Still trying to catch up on my posts! Okay so lets review, Lucas is crawling....a ton! This was back from his 7 month Birthday, and it was so hard to take. In most of the pictures I only got the back half of him, or he has his head down getting ready to crawl away. So, although this one isn't my favorite it will do :)

7 months old and getting sneaky

Posted by Picasa

Well Lucas is now in full swing!
He started crawling a month ago, and he has been getting exceptionally sneaky lately. I am in for a treat let me tell you. You know how mother's always say "I hope you have a kid just like you" or the "You reap what you sow" thing, well what about the wives? Why should we have to suffer for the sneaky things our husbands did!? Hehehe, well I can only hope that fate is kinder to me than it should be. Lucas can get anywhere he wants to go now, and he wants to go where there is paper, Gus's toys, cups, and a screen. Wish me luck!!

First Trip to the Park

I am trying to catch up on posts because as you can tell I am behind! So this was on January 31st, the days was amazingly warm so we decided to take our first family outing to the park. Lucas LOVED the swing! He was laughing and having fun, once he was tired of that we tried the slides. I think he is still too little to fully appreciate it, but he did have fun watching everyone and hanging out with his two best friends :)

My boys

Posted by Picasa

I so thankful that I have my boys. I hope that things are changing everywhere and not only in my house, but you hear about all those couples that are from my parents era that the mothers were required and expected to do everything for the except for provide an income and it just seems so impossible to me. Luckily for me, Brian has been amazingly helpful and supportive. Anytime I need a break or am trying to get something else done, Brian is more than happy to play with his little buddy. I hope that this is going on everywhere because I think that kids will be much more "well-rounded" with both parents taking active roles in their kids lives.

Best Buds

Gus spent a few days at a friends house and came back filthy! When he got home he went straight to the glass door and when Lucas saw him he crawled over there as fast as he could. They stayed starring at each other for a while before they went back to what they were doing. They missed each other and were happy when Gus got a bath and got to come back in the house.

I just can't help myself

Okay I know that I take too many pictures of Lucas, but I just can't help myself! He is just at such a cute stage right now. He has two little bottom teeth, has been sitting up entirely on his own since about the 4th of this month, and loves to scoot around. Here are a few pictures that I took today

January Photo shoot (6 months)

Okay well here are the pictures that I took for Lucas's 6 month birthday (plus some cute bath photos). If you would like prints of them, just let me know which photo and what size you want (wallet, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10). If you don't like the enhancements on the photo I can also take those off. and I could also make a collage if you want multiple images in one print. Just shoot me an email at laurabone86@gmail.com or post a comment and I will try to remember to check.

Thanks,
