KAFB Open House

Although they weren't calling it an air show, we had an "Open House" (aka mini air show) here on base. I had never been to anything like that so I convinced Brian the boys would love it and boy was I right! Notice all the outfit changes? Well we layered...a lot! It was super cold when we got there but the sun warmed things up a bit.

 Old tanks and jeeps

Opening ceremonies - guy parachuted with the flag! The train PJ's here in KAFB so they had a lot of them going through the opening ceremonies

Brian was such a trooper, patiently waiting in line FOREVER to walk through one of the planes that he works in everyday. It was fun for the boys and I to get a little tour of the C-130
 All bundled up
Brian showed us the potty. Honestly if he didn't point it out I would have missed it.  Now how would you like to be a girl who has to go?

 The C-130

Lucas got to sit in the seat and pretend to fly several helicopters

The gatling. I think that's what it's called anyway..

 The Thunderbirds!

Lucas wanted a picture by this plane.  Then he was too busy playing with the little airplane I had just bought him to even look at the yellow plane or the camera!

Someone had just about enough cooperating for the day

 Fire Trucks!!

 Look closely, see who's inside?

My little trooper :) He stayed happy playing with his airplane and eating cheese and cookies.

Balloon Fiesta

Once again Balloon Fiesta came and went, and we never went! It's hard to want to drag the kids out of bed so early but if we're here next year, I am so doing it!  On the last morning of the Fiesta, the balloons came to us.  We heard a loud noise outside, looked out back, and there were several balloons.  Two of those balloons passed right over our house!

Lucas' first solo prayer!

I am just a beaming Momma right now :)  For the past month Lucas has been wanting to say his own night time prayer (usually I just said one as part of our bedtime routine).  He always needed help and would just repeat what I would say for him.  Tonight he did it all by himself! I thought it was too cute not to journal

Lucas:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our blessings.
Please bless Daddy that he will be safe at work.
Please bless Tia Quelquel that she can get better.
Please bless Vovo that she can get healthy and strong.
Please bless Daddy....*quietly* Mom what's next?"

Me: "In the name.."

Lucas:
"In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

McCall's Pumpkin Patch (warning, picture overload!)

Yesterday morning (Saturday, October 1st) I woke up with fall on the brain.  Since this was Brian's first Saturday off in nearly a month I wanted to make the most of it! We set conference to DVR and headed out to Moriarty, NM to go to the much talked about, McCall's Pumpkin Patch.  They had lots of fun kids activities and a HUGE corn maze that Brian was completely uninterested in.
Levi LOVED this little bunny town. Pretty sure it was his favorite stop of the day, which is why there are more pictures at the bottom, cause we had to go there on the way out too :)

We Fed (way scary...they were all over that...not easy with kids), Brushed, and pet the goats!
Levi wanted to stay at a safe distance after seeing the feeding freak out
Lucas was a little scared to brush them in the beginning but once he felt comfortable I literally had to pry the comb out of his hands!
Farmer Lucas

Jail birds.  I have no idea why he associated the two things, but Lucas kept saying this was "Zack's bedroom".  Zack is his BFF that lives two houses down...his room is nothing like a jail...

This kids had a blast in the bounce houses, they had 3. Cow, Horse, and Pumpkin.
These were obviously in the pumpkn. Levi would scoot all around trying to chase jumping Lucas.  When Lucas' bounce would make Levi face plant it, Levi would laugh hysterically!

Lucas LOVED these pedal cars

As you can tell, this kid was meant for speed. Once he got used to how the pedals worked (with braking etc) he was lapping kids a couple of years older than him!
This was the giant slide. See poor Levi smashed in the middle?
Levi was not in the mood for pictures AT ALL that day..
