McCall's Pumpkin Patch (warning, picture overload!)

Yesterday morning (Saturday, October 1st) I woke up with fall on the brain.  Since this was Brian's first Saturday off in nearly a month I wanted to make the most of it! We set conference to DVR and headed out to Moriarty, NM to go to the much talked about, McCall's Pumpkin Patch.  They had lots of fun kids activities and a HUGE corn maze that Brian was completely uninterested in.
Levi LOVED this little bunny town. Pretty sure it was his favorite stop of the day, which is why there are more pictures at the bottom, cause we had to go there on the way out too :)

We Fed (way scary...they were all over that...not easy with kids), Brushed, and pet the goats!
Levi wanted to stay at a safe distance after seeing the feeding freak out
Lucas was a little scared to brush them in the beginning but once he felt comfortable I literally had to pry the comb out of his hands!
Farmer Lucas

Jail birds.  I have no idea why he associated the two things, but Lucas kept saying this was "Zack's bedroom".  Zack is his BFF that lives two houses down...his room is nothing like a jail...

This kids had a blast in the bounce houses, they had 3. Cow, Horse, and Pumpkin.
These were obviously in the pumpkn. Levi would scoot all around trying to chase jumping Lucas.  When Lucas' bounce would make Levi face plant it, Levi would laugh hysterically!

Lucas LOVED these pedal cars

As you can tell, this kid was meant for speed. Once he got used to how the pedals worked (with braking etc) he was lapping kids a couple of years older than him!
This was the giant slide. See poor Levi smashed in the middle?
Levi was not in the mood for pictures AT ALL that day..

September random pics

Levi is super in love with "Gu!".  Gus is such a good boy, he endures a lot with these kiddos, including being repeatedly hit with a mixing spoon by a little monster...

Levi loves to eat black beans.  He loves to make a mess even more!

These little guys are all over the base.  I caught this one hanging out right outside our window.

Who put these jammies like this???  Oh yeah, that was me trying to quickly snap it together while he was squirming away after a diaper change.

I leave the boys for a minute to take the dinner plates to the kitchen. When I come back I find ice cream all over Levi's chair, face, and hands....

...then this guy so proudly tells me "Mom! I shared my ice cream with Levi!"

 Bubble fun

I have such cute good boys :)

You tell Lucas to smile for a picture and this is the smile you get now.  I think he is taking "cheese" to a whole new level.

My heart jumped out of my chest

This was one of the scariest days of my life so far.  We were in line to check out at Wal-mart (where we only shop at once a month).  I was putting baby food jars on the conveyor belt thing and I dropped one and it broke and shattered all over the floor.  I should have taken that as a warning sign.  A worker came and cleaned it all up.  Then minutes later when we were almost done checking out, the unthinkable happened.
Brian (holding Levi) went to pull the cart forward to get some of the bagged items back in the cart.  When he pulled it, he didn't realize that Lucas was standing up in the carts little seat.  Lucas fell backwards (in a back flip) out of the cart and directly onto his head, on to the hard concrete floor.
Talk about give me a heart attack!  In the end he was ok (he cried for a good half hour non-stop).  We took him to Urgent Care and they said he would be fine.

He ended up with a huge goose egg on his forehead that turned all sorts of green, blue, and purple.  He got a black swollen eye too :(

Goodbye swimming :(

We had to go swimming one last time before the pool closed.  The kids both had a blast this summer! Levi is going to be a natural.  Can't wait for Memorial Day so we can go to the pool all the time again!

Exploring Scenic Highways

So over Labor Day weekend we decided to go explore "The Turquoise Trail" NM Scenic Highway 14.  We will DEFINITELY be going back!  Because we didn't really "plan" on going on such a long outing we ended up having to turn around after Madrid cause the boys were getting hungry.  Next time, we take it all the way to Santa Fe.

These photos are all taken in a small tourist trap town called Madrid.  It was featured in the movie "Wild Hogs"

This is the Diner that was used in the movie. Now it's just a souvenir shop for movie memorabilia and motorcycle stuff.

Loved this guy

Lots of cute shops

Labor Day weekend at the Biopark

Lucas loves the "jellies"

These give me the heebie jeebies! Especially their walnut sized egg sack hanging in the cage as well!

LOVED this butterfly!

Water Lilies at the botanical gardens

Lucas was so excited to see "the bird" from "the bird movie" - We have been watching Rio just about every single day.

Trying to get the Lorekeets to come over, every time I don't have my camera with me they come to the fence and lick our fingers!
