First Trip to the Park
I am trying to catch up on posts because as you can tell I am behind! So this was on January 31st, the days was amazingly warm so we decided to take our first family outing to the park. Lucas LOVED the swing! He was laughing and having fun, once he was tired of that we tried the slides. I think he is still too little to fully appreciate it, but he did have fun watching everyone and hanging out with his two best friends :)

My boys

I so thankful that I have my boys. I hope that things are changing everywhere and not only in my house, but you hear about all those couples that are from my parents era that the mothers were required and expected to do everything for the except for provide an income and it just seems so impossible to me. Luckily for me, Brian has been amazingly helpful and supportive. Anytime I need a break or am trying to get something else done, Brian is more than happy to play with his little buddy. I hope that this is going on everywhere because I think that kids will be much more "well-rounded" with both parents taking active roles in their kids lives.

Best Buds
Gus spent a few days at a friends house and came back filthy! When he got home he went straight to the glass door and when Lucas saw him he crawled over there as fast as he could. They stayed starring at each other for a while before they went back to what they were doing. They missed each other and were happy when Gus got a bath and got to come back in the house.

I just can't help myself
Okay I know that I take too many pictures of Lucas, but I just can't help myself! He is just at such a cute stage right now. He has two little bottom teeth, has been sitting up entirely on his own since about the 4th of this month, and loves to scoot around. Here are a few pictures that I took today

January Photo shoot (6 months)
Okay well here are the pictures that I took for Lucas's 6 month birthday (plus some cute bath photos). If you would like prints of them, just let me know which photo and what size you want (wallet, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10). If you don't like the enhancements on the photo I can also take those off. and I could also make a collage if you want multiple images in one print. Just shoot me an email at laurabone86@gmail.com or post a comment and I will try to remember to check.
Thanks,
Thanks,

December 2008
This month came with a lot of changes and a lot of fun! Lucas changed drastically, Brian and I went on our first date, and of course there was Christmas and our Anniversary.
Lucas started to scoot around backwards whenever he was left to roam on the floor and he also started reaching for people. Now when I go to pick him up, I reach out my arms first and then he reaches out his as well (most of the time anyway - occasionally I am rejected).
All three of us got colds around the middle of the month, and it is horrible having a sick child. I don't know how mom's do it when they have a bunch of kids. To top things off Lucas also got his first tooth on the 17th! Luckily he didn't take it too bad, and with the assistance of a little orajel we got through it just fine.
Christmas was so much fun this year (aside from the lack of money)! Lucas actually got into opening presents pretty well. He loves paper so we just had to pull up a corner and he would pull the paper to his mouth and then we would give him another piece to rip. Brian got some hunting snow boots that he had been wanting and I got a web cam and tripod.
Brian and I got to go on two dates this month! We saw two movies - in the theaters - and we also got to go out to dinner for our anniversary. Life is so different with Lucas that it was a bit of a circus trying to get away but it was nice to have some time for ourselves after six months of parenthood. Thankfully we have wonderful family here who is more than happy to help out :)
We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and we hope to hear from you soon!

November 2008
Well I know that I am back tracking, but the holidays got so hectic that I never got a chance to update. This month went by fairly uneventful until the week of Thanksgiving when Lucas tried Rice Cereal for the first time! It was lots of fun for Brian and I to watch as he tried to get more coordination with his tongue in order to eat and swallow this new/foreign food.
On the day after Thanksgiving my sister (Raquel) sent Lucas down an exersaucer. It was and still is his all time favorite toy. He loves to eat all of the different toys on it and it also taught him how to jump. Now, when you hold him up on your lap or anywhere else, he just sits there and bounces up and down.

Halloween!

Well Halloween finally came! Lucas looked adorable in his little dragon costume. The kid is just growing like a weed, his costume was for 0-9 months and he isn't quite 4 months old and it just BARELY fit (except for the arms, which were huge). I took him to SkyWest to trick-or-treat and see everyone there. Mom came with us and got a witches hat full of candy. Then later that evening Brian and I took him to a few houses here around the neighborhood. It was fun to have someone to dress up and take out. I can't wait for next year!

October 2008
This month went by quick but we started and ended with a fun weekend. The first weekend this month we took off to Lake Powell. I would have never considered going if we were just going to camp, but since Wayne invited us to go on the house boat, I decided it would be a fun adventure for us.
We left on Friday Afternoon to set sail on the "Queen Bea". It was a nice family trip, but I never even set foot on the beach! The house boat was really nice and it was extra nice because we got the private bedroom so that Lucas could take his naps. This was the first time that Lucas slept perfectly. Normally naps were a little hard, but I think the rocking of the ship helped him sleep.
The rest of the month went by quickly. Brian has been trying to keep busy with work and his hobbies and I have been busy with Lucas. This month Lucas decided that it was about time to learn how to roll over. He learned to roll on to his side pretty well and on the 22nd, he finally made it all the way to his belly!

September 2008
Well I am finally starting to get the hang of being a Mom. Lucas is two months old already! At his two month Dr's appointment he weighed 12 lbs 11 oz and was 23 3/4 inches long. He is now officially a cute chubby baby. He was in the 75th percentile for height and weight, which is a nice change from last month. It was also time for shots, and they did not go so well. Lucas was fine until the pain kicked in later that day, then he cried for the rest of the day until we went and got some baby tylenol.
We had a lot of fun this month going to Pine Valley every weekend (Ok I had fun there and Brian worked) and taking one evening to go to Sand Hollow Reservoir. This was the first time Lucas went out on the boat and my first time out there since March! Our friends Mike, Megan, Eric, and Autumn came out with us, Lucas even got to bring his cute little friend Aspen. Although you can really see a size difference between them is big now, Aspen is just one month younger than Lucas.
Brian has been trying to get out the lake but hasn't made it out that much this summer with Lucas and all. We are hoping that next summer will be a lot more fun going to the lake with our whole little family.

August 2008
August has come and gone so quickly, I hope time doesn't always fly this quickly! Lucas is already a month old and at his Dr.'s appointment he is still a little guy, but getting bigger. He is now 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. That puts him in only the 25th percentile for weight but average for height. We are hoping to do better in the weight catagory next month :)
We are adjusting well to parenting, just enjoying all the one on one time. Lucas finally took his first real bath! It took a while for his umbilical stump to fall off and then he just seemed so little I didn't dare brave the water yet. Babies are too slippery when wet and soapy!
There are also several pictures here from Lucas's 5 generations! I think it is so neat, especially since I only ever knew one set of grandparents. His generations are his Great-Great-Grandma Rose Blackwell (97), Great-Grandma Carol Berg (71), Grandma Julie Bone (48), Dad Brian Bone (26), and then Lucas Bone (1 month).
